Nancy Travis is joining NCIS in a surprising role!
The 63-year-old actress is joining the cast as the sibling of one of the main cast members. According to TVLine, the showrunner for NCIS said that they’re planning to show viewers the backstory of a character they know and love.
Nancy will be joining the cast to bring some serious family drama to the franchise by bringing to life the character’s sister.

Nancy is joining NCIS as Navy Vice Admiral Harriet Parker, sister of Gary Cole‘s Special Agent Alden Parker. The two of them are being reunited following the murder of their father and they’re bringing a ton of family drama to the screen.
Showrunner Steven D. Binder told TVLine, “The Alden Parker that we know and see now is not what Alden Parker was as a child. We’ve gotten into his history a bit — he was a troubled kid, he was in a juvie home, he stole things — and that’s the dynamic that his sister grew up with. He was the ‘bad’ kid and she was the good kid.”
Steven went on to explain that the two of them will be hashing out all their differences on the show in a major way.
“She’s this super squared-away Navy admiral, and then you’ve got Alden Parker, who’s got this ‘bad kid ‘seed. Those two are going to come to a head, and what’s funny about that is it’s one thing to have it happen over Thanksgiving dinner, it’s a whole other thing to happen in the middle of a global crisis! The bickering is, I might say, very NCIS,” Steven told the publication.
