Turns out, it just takes a little magic to bring The Muppets to Broadway!
After decades of desires to see Jim Henson’s beloved characters on stage, Kermit the Frog and his pals will finally make their Broadway debut this holiday season alongside master illusionist Rob Lake.
The limited run show, titled Rob Lake Magic with Special Guests The Muppets, will run at the Broadhurst Theatre in New York City. Previews begin Oct. 28, with opening night set for Nov. 6. The show will play through Jan. 18, 2026.
“Like so many people around the world, I grew up with The Muppets,” Lake said in a statement. “To work with them and create new illusions for them has been the most rewarding and surprisingly familiar moment. It’s like I have known them my entire life.”

Lake, who was dubbed “The World’s Greatest Illusionist” by NBC and was a quarter-finalist on season 13 of America’s Got Talent in 2018, has worked on Broadway before — though not as a performer. A former illusion designer for Walt Disney Imagineering, he provided initial illusion contributions to the Tony-winning musical Death Becomes Her and has designed for a number of other stage productions, including Beauty and the Beast, Phantom of the Opera. Peter Pan and more.
He’s also the man behind creating the magic in Adele’s Las Vegas residency, and is the youngest magician in history to win the coveted Merlin Award as International Stage Magician of the Year.

Mixing Lake’s elaborate visuals with The Muppet’s wacky humor will be the perfect pairing, producers Joe Quenqua and Gareth Lake of Glass Half Full Productions said in a statement.
“After years of touring the world, we are so excited that Broadway audiences will finally get to marvel at the exceptional talents of Rob Lake,” they noted. “Pairing his mind-blowing illusions with The Muppets and their singular classic humor is truly a dream come true – for all of us!”
Rob Lake Magic with Special Guests The Muppets will also be produced by Lake’s production company, with Wagner Johnson Productions serving as executive producers.
Bethany Pettigrew (Death Becomes Her) and Kevin Zak (Ginger Twinsies) will serve as creative consultant and script consultant to the production, respectively. More creative team members are to be announced at a later date.
The Muppets were last on stage in the 1970s, in a live Vegas show with Nancy Sinatra. Henson long tried to get his characters to Broadway, but a production never materialized before his death in 1990.
