Seattle Seahawks Spark Debate With Preseason Win Over Kansas City Chiefs

The game set the tone for the preseason, Win for the Seattle Seahawks against the Kansas City Chiefs. While these wins don’t really go into the regular-season record, they sure coupled some discussion. The official NFL account noted it as “Impressive,” and some analysts and fans had many different possibly positive opinions or just shrugged it off as preseason hype.

The absurdity in using the term for any preseason showcase might make it laughable for some. Others were sarcastic about the game, siding with Seattle. There were a few weirdly conflicted Seahawks fans entertaining some hopes: “This offense could be scary if they stay healthy,” another fan uttered, considering the regular season.

In his official opinion, the Chiefs, freshly off their second Super Bowl, couldn’t keep their starters on for very long, if at all, and that was brought up by Seattle’s opponents as a cheap shot at belittling the Hawk’s win. “They weren’t up against Mahomes or their first-line offense,” said one commentator, as he basically condemned taking the win seriously, while others were more concerned with how all of this ultimately helped Seattle improve its offensive line.

And, of course, no NFL discussion is ever complete without its share of conspiracy theories. One user proclaimed that the league writers were already setting up another championship run for the Chiefs, while another mocked the idea that Seahawks fans could get excited about a meaningless game: “Seahawks fans thinking they are going all the way this year because they won a preseason game against the Chiefs,” was angrily said followed by multiple laughing emojis.

Among the football exchanges, a couple of weird replies stood out, like one guy who kept offering “100% sure fixed games” across various sports, which, uh, probably wasn’t the topic at hand. Then there was that strange back-and-forth about… something else entirely? Yeah, this Twitter scene is not your usual years-to-disappear kind of trademark.

Hence, preseason games work as glorified practice sessions, throwing some dim lights on the fireworks, at least. All in all, whether or not the Seahawks show sparks that translate to the regular season is another matter. For the moment, though, the hustle and bustle among fans to argue and overreact will not infuse the air, and it seems unfortunate that some will almost fall for it once more.
