There was said to be a choice for the fans: a temporary hut on an actual island or an ocean-view room on the mainland equipped with an indoor pool referred to as a plane ride-anything for the “Perfect Match” host. Lachey seemed to take a semi-ironic approach to the walkthrough of his “crib” for season three of Perfect Match, giving all the bare necessities…and by bare, we really imply bare.

The video proceeds to show Nicholas Lachey standing in front of what seemed a pretty basic beachfront home in Tulum as he gave an ironic glare worthy of the dryest hyperbole: “What’s up guys, Nicholas Shae here in Tulum and welcome to my crib.” For an added sparkle of theatrics, he pronounces his full name before listing the mundane amenities he affords: a lantern for late-night ambiance; a TV set which has no power, but you can still watch whoever plays whenever convenient; and a suitcase which hasn’t been anywhere for close to a year. Among others, we have the shining beacon of humor in his own coffee mug which reads “Cafe Le Che,” because every man needs his cup of java–even if it comes from a shack by the sea.
The post was captioned as, “In honor of the #PerfectMatch finale…. welcome to my Season 3 crib,” which could easily be taken as a tip of the hat to the show’s tropical locale and the island lifestyle of the contestants. Netflix fans weighed in quickly and backed up Lachey’s sarcastic take on his exclusive “stay.”
Another user kind of teased the whole set-up by saying, “Sauna not shown here 😂😂😂,” referring to Lachey’s sarcastic reference to the missing amenity. Another user laughed, “Your Season 3 crib is so beautiful, Nick… after being stuck on an island for days! 😂😂😂,” well-stating how ridiculous it is to call a tent a five-star resort.
At the intermingling of comments, there were some much more caustic ones. One comment came at Lachey, as if actually going cross swords with his boy band past. “Not after you sand someone else’s boy band songs,” which is an obvious reference to his NSYNC days. Meanwhile, another person had to stir things up alleging something about real estate, “Of course you’re happy you just bought your house back that you sold when you moved to Hawaii.” Whether that’s true or just bitter sarcasm saturating the Internet, remains unclear, but definitely made the whole comment section fun.
Mixed or not, the fans would, in all fairness, love Lachey’s self-deprecating humor. While another fan started picking through the past, saying, “Oh please please give me a shout out I’m a HUGE fan I remember singing the hardest thing in my Livingroom ❤️,” which just goes on to show that, after all these years, the 98 Degrees heartthrob has a dedicated fanbase.
It is a cool behind-the-scenes moment for ‘Perfect Match’ fans binge-watching the third season finale. If anything, Lachey knows how to entertain: be it hosting a reality show or pretending his beach hut is high-class.

So, how do the stars really live during production? Uh-uh. Yet, if the tour can tell us anything, then maybe the real luxury comes from being able to laugh at yourself when your “crib” is basically glorified camping.
