The Victoria County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed to USA TODAY that former Disney Channel actor Matt Prokop has been arrested “on charges including evading arrest or detention, resisting arrest, search or transportation, violation of bond or protective order, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felony possession of child pornography“.
The 35-year-old is known for his roles in High School Musical 3 and the Disney Channel original movie Geek Charming, the latter of which he starred in opposite ex-girlfriend Sarah Hyland. The Modern Family star dated Prokop for over four years before filing a restraining order against him citing verbal and physical abuse, details of which are under the cut:

According to court documents, “[Hyland] and Prokop got into a fight about her outfit that ended with him pinning her against a car, choking her and yelling ‘cunt, cunt, cunt’ at her. The documents say, ‘His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear for my life.'”
“Hyland alleged at the time that she had to ask her onscreen mother, Julie Bowen, to be present when she attempted to ‘peacefully end’ their relationship. According to court documents … Prokop reacted by throwing a lighter at her and threatening to kill her dog and burn her house down.”
Prokop is currently being held in a Victoria, TX jail and no court date has been set at this time.
