Taylor and Jimmy first met when she was 9 years old. She was on the same little league team with Jimmy’s son Kevin (her dad was the coach). Taylor and Kevin went to the same high school and were in some plays together. She was also a PA for Jimmy’s show one summer when she was in college. Taylor said she is the cast member from The Pitt that doesn’t get recognized in public.
She said a lot of doctors and other medical staff had told the cast that thanks to the show, their families really understand what they mean when they say they’ve had a hard day. One doctor’s criticism about how the show’s realism is that they don’t have nearly enough ER patients with butt stuff. Her previous medical training was a middle school camp where they were treated as EMTs dealing with increasingly serious disasters (but they were not told ahead of time that they would be doing any of this). The big finale at this camp was being told that there had been a plane crash and that they had to help triage the survivors, complete with a fuselage and fire (in the form of Duraflame logs).
