Kevin Spacey makes a rare appearance at Piers Morgan’s annual Christmas party ahead of facing new sex assault claims in civil trial

Kevin Spacey made a rare appearance at Piers Morgan’s annual Christmas party ahead of facing new sex assault claims in a civil trial.

The actor, 66, was cleared of sexually assaulting four men in a criminal trial in 2023 but he will face new sex assault claims, which he denies, from three men in a three-week High Court civil trial in 2026.

In a rare public outing, Spacey stepped out in London for broadcaster Piers’s annual festive bash on Friday.

The party, held at the Scarsdale Tavern in Kensington, was also attended by the likes of Myleene Klass, Ronan Keating and Susanna Reid.

Spacey was beaming as he arrived for the party wearing a navy tweed suit and zip-up sweater.

Three men, Ruari Cannon, who has waived his right to anonymity, and two others who have not, allege the actor abused them between 2000 and 2015. The claims will be heard at a civil trial next year.

They claim to have met the Hollywood star, 66, through his position as an artistic director at the Old Vic Theatre.

All three men are taking legal action against Spacey at the High Court, meanwhile, Mr Cannon is also bringing action against the theatre.

Spacey denies the allegations, and in 2023, he was acquitted of nine sex offences relating to four men.

Elizabeth-Ann Gumbel KC, for the three men, said on Wednesday that the cases should be heard together.

In a written submission for a hearing, she added that this would mean the men and Mr Spacey would not have to give evidence more than once.

‘If the cases were heard separately, the defendant would need to give evidence in each case and be available for trial on three separate occasions,’ she said.

Days before the allegations came to light, Spacey insisted he is not homeless after recent remarks he made about ‘living in Airbnbs and hotels’ prompted the speculation.

In an Instagram video posted Sunday, he said he felt compelled to clarify the the comments after ‘thousands of people’ ‘reached out over the past few days offering me a place to stay or have just asked if I’m okay.’

‘And to all of you, I am truly touched by your generosity full stop,’ he continued.

‘But I feel it would be disingenuous to allow you to believe I am indeed homeless in the colloquial sense.’

‘I said I was basically living in hotels and Airbnbs and going where the work is, just as I did when I first started out in this business.

‘I’ve been working nearly nonstop this entire year and, for that, I have so much to be grateful for,’ Spacey also noted.

‘And there are many people, as well all know, who are indeed actually living on the streets or in their cars or are in terrible financial situations, and my heart goes out to them.’
