After the success of the new horror movie Weapons during its opening weekend, it has been revealed that a prequel movie might happen!
Here’s the synopsis of the film: When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance.
Gladys is a character that was kept out of the marketing materials because of the major impact that she has on the movie, giving fans a surprise when they first see her.
Amy Madigan, best known for her work in Field of Dreams, is already getting Oscar buzz for her work as the evil character.

THR reports that Weapons originally included a chapter “focused on Gladys and some of her backstory,” but it was cut out of the script for “length purposes.”
“Now with the movie’s wild success, that lost chapter would be expanded into a full-length story. Sources say no deals have been made, nor is there any timeline,” The Hollywood Reporter‘s sources said.
Director Zach Cregger is currently working on his Resident Evil reboot, so there’s no update on when the prequel can be made.
Zach recently revealed two options for the Gladys backstory that he gave to Amy. He let her pick the backstory, but asked her not to tell him which one she chose.
