Taylor Swift Fans Discover Crazy Lady Gaga Connection With ‘Life of a Showgirl’ Announcement

There’s a surprise connection between Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga!

Following the exciting announcement of the 35-year-old “Ready For It?” singer’s upcoming 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl, fans noticed one completely wild coincidence…or perhaps an intentional clue.

“So this is true and crazy…you know, art begets art. Lady Gaga released ‘Applause’ 12 years ago today. It was originally intended to be released on August 19, 2013, but it was rush released on August 12, 2013, after parts of the song got released online,” fan Nikki King noted on a TikTok that’s since gone viral.

“Today is August 12, 12 years later, and Taylor Swift just announced TS12, called The Life of a Showgirl, an album which she presumably wrote on the Eras Tour about the life of a showgirl,” she went on to say.

“Every night, the next-to-last song that came on before Taylor took the stage was ‘Applause.’ Once ‘Applause’ ended, that meant it was time for ‘You Don’t Own Me’ and the countdown clock. The countdown clock started at two minutes and 24 seconds — and today is the 224th day of the year. Today also just happens to be the 12th anniversary of this date,” she noted.

“And 12 years later, on this day, we’re now waiting for TS12 — about living for the applause. I love it.”

And while it’s not confirmed whether or not this connection is intentional, Swifties already know that Taylor is a mastermind, and loves dropping clever Easter eggs for fans to find along the way.

Here’s what we know so far about the new album!
