Johnny Depp portrayed the iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Jerry confirmed to EW, “If he likes the way the part’s written, I think he would do it. It’s all about what’s on the page, as we all know.” Apparently, he told the publication that they have had conversations about his reprising the role. As of late 2024, Disney had not engaged with Johnny, so this is the most promising update we’ve seen in a while.
“We are still working on a screenplay,” he previously added. “We want to make it. We just got to get the right screenplay. We haven’t quite gotten there yet, but we’re close.”
