Jeremy O. Harris has been released.
If you don’t know, the 36-year-old Tony-nominated playwright and Emily in Paris actor was originally detailed in Japan for “attempting to smuggle illegal drugs into the country.” Last week, Reuters reported that he was arrested on November 16 on “suspicion of attempting to smuggle illegal drugs.” Customs allegedly found “0.78 grams of crystal containing the synthetic narcotic MDMA” in his bag.

In a new update, he was officially released by the Tomishiro police in Tomigusuku City on Monday (December 8), the New York Times reports. A rep for Jeremy told the Times that he was “released without charges,” and he’s actually planning to stay in Japan while he’s researching a new project.
