“I was bummed I wasn’t going out with it. Just straight-up bald. I think that would have been fun,” Emma told the publication of the fact that she was wearing wigs to events throughout 2024 in order to hide the hair transformation.

Despite having to hide her shaved head from the public, Emma said there was one thing she liked about it. She told the publication, “No better feeling in the world. The first shower when you’ve shaved your head? Oh my god, it’s amazing.”

Emma also shared that she felt emotional about shaving her head because she was reminded of her mother’s journey with hair loss as she battled breast cancer. Emma told Vogue that her thought process at the time was, “She actually did something brave. I’m just shaving my head.”

Still, Emma said that her mom was encouraging her hair transformation and said, “My mom was like, ‘I’m so jealous. I want to shave my head again.’”
