The number one YouTuber together with the former NASA engineer Mark Rober has recently collaborated with companies Make-A-Wish and Disney to create a wonderful experience for a group of children suffering from serious illnesses. The whole event, which is narrated in a recently released video, was meant to spread joy and faith, and Rober, on his part, urged the public to support charity on this Giving Tuesday.

Not to mention, Mark Rober, the guy who is famous for his wild science projects and glitter bomb traps to catch porch thieves, has just gone above and beyond even that to make a device. He spent an entire day at Disneyland with Make-A-Wish children. He did not just walk around the park—he and the kids got into the engineering behind the rides, and even performed an epic egg drop in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. What an incredible field trip!
Rober, in the video, he makes the point very clear. He says, “Make-A-Wish allows families to push fear back and let hope front again.” His call is very loud and clear: if you are able, help them. The time is very apt since Giving Tuesday is just around the corner—a worldwide day dedicated to good deeds coming right after the frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
It was no surprise that a huge wave of goodwill reacted to the online comments. Disney Parks acknowledged and thanked Mark for making the day “even more magical.” An excited person wrote, “Mark, this is the best goodness I could ask to see this morning. Thank you!” Such comments are able to rise above the usual digital noise—don’t you think so?
Some comments even showed Rober’s broader impact. A mother from Kazakhstan said, “My boys, aged two and three, are big fans of yours. They could sit and watch your YouTube channel the whole day!” It reminds us that Rober’s creativity brings happiness to millions of people and, therefore, this charity action cannot be easily compared to any other. Another comment was, “All four of my nephews would have a good time if they had the chance to be with you! I can’t believe you did this for those kids!”
Of course, the internet had a way of coming up with its own opinions, and, as a result, a few lines of responses were not all peachy. One user, being skeptical, posted a question, “But did Mark give away some money or he just got hired to do so..?” This is a valid point in the influencer era, although one of the things the video main focus was the kids and the charity’s mission rather than any personal remuneration. Another borderline comment merely remarked, “Why is a rumor that you died going around? 😭”—a bizarre and totally uncalled for instance of online madness that had nothing to do with the happy event.
There were, however, general feelings of support expressed very strongly. “You are the proper best human,” was the comment of one of the social media users. Another referred to him as their “hero.” The overall response gives testimony to the fact that the use of one’s influence for good is a simple act that can impact people very deeply.

Mark Rober’s profession has always been about fun, learning, and sometimes, making a mess. However, while the partnership among Disneyland and Make-A-Wish is a project reflecting the other side of Rober—one that is only interested in creating a hopeful future for children who have suffered a lot. He believes that the support for charity is about unlocking and utilizing the “superpower of helping someone believe.” For the master of pranks, this could very well be his most powerful project! His work often involves wild science experiments and he once recreated a famous escape. He also revealed the first man-made object to break the sound barrier.
