Pluribus is one of Apple TV’s biggest new shows right now, and there’s a prevailing theory online that the series is a metaphor about the dangers of artificial intelligence.
The show’s creator Vince Gilligan, who is the mastermind behind the Breaking Bad universe as well, was asked about this fan theory.

He told Variety he was “not thinking about AI” when he came up with the idea for the show.
“One thing I did wrong while doing press for ‘Breaking Bad’ was tell people, ‘This is what this meant! This meant that!’ I look back, and it was so tiresome. Whatever people want to take away from this show is 100% up to them,” he said.
And if you’re wondering how Vince feels about AI, he told Polygon the following: “I have not used ChatGPT, because as of yet, no one has held a shotgun to my head and made me do it. I will never use it. No offense to anyone who does.”
