Becca Bloom is not holding back.

On Thursday, Nov. 13, the influencer, 27, whose real name is Rebecca Ma, shared a video on TikTok in which she discussed the things men don’t understand about equality and why her husband, David Pownall paying “all the bills” is the “bare minimum” he should be doing.

However, Bloom — who had 4.8 million followers on the platform — was met with criticism in the comments section, with some people claiming she shouldn’t be making a video about equality due to being wealthy.

The star is known as the “reigning queen of RichTok,” where creators showcase their luxurious lifestyles.

“Here’s what men don’t understand about equality,” she said in the TikTok. “You think equality means splitting the bill. Women live in a society where equality has never existed in the first place. Women still only make 80% of what a man makes for the same full-time job. So when you ask for a 50/50 date, know that her 50% costs more than her income than it does yours.”

She went on to say that “women pay more just to exist in the dating world,” due to having to pay for beauty treatments and grooming to keep up with the “beauty standards that men built and judge them by.”

“Men only remember the word equality when it benefits them financially, not when it comes to wages, not when it comes to safety, not when it comes to emotional workload, not when it comes to the cost of beauty,” she continued. “Not when it comes to the social scrutiny women face on a daily basis.”

Bloom added, “But suddenly you want equality when the bill hits the table. Equality isn’t identical treatment, equality is balanced responsibility and until society becomes statistically equal, you cannot cherry pick equality only in moments where it allows you to contribute less.”

“So yes, my husband pays all the bills and yes I think that’s the bare minimum,” she concluded.

In the comment section, one person was quick to call out Bloom for being so wealthy.

“I will not be lectured on equality by this billionaire. Not now, not ever,” the individual said.

Bloom clapped back, “When someone can’t challenge the point, they challenge the existence of the person who made it. Thanks for the case study.”

After another follower said Bloom should get her wealthy family to redistribute their money, the TikToker said the commenter was “cyberbullying” her, adding, “If you knew even a fraction about me or my family,” Becca wrote back, “that question wouldn’t have made it out of your drafts,” per E! News.

Meanwhile, others appeared to be in support of Bloom’s stance on equality.

“So she can’t speak on gender equality because she’s a billionaire???,” one person asked alongside crying face emojis.

“Apparently not, but that’s not gonna stop me,” Bloom replied to her supportive message.

Meanwhile, another commented, “Every word spoken carried weight and deserved notice.”
