Abbie Chatfield shares shocking bikini picture as she vows to bring back a raunchy 1970s trend: ‘Who’s joining me this summer?’

Abbie Chatfield has posted a new bikini photo after vowing to grow out her ‘koala ears’.

The TV personality, who previously revealed that she was no longer shaving her pubic hair, shared a snap of herself on Saturday while scantily clad in a tiny blue bikini.

She followed up the image with a photoshopped version, showing her with pubic hair peeping out of her bikini bottoms.

‘Current versus goal koala ears!’ the 30-year-old captioned the sponsored post, referring to the hair on her bikini line.

‘A few months ago I set the goal of bringing back Koala ears to Australian beaches, considering they are currently endangered!! Thank you to @billie razors for their support of this endeavour….’

She went on: ‘I can only dream of the second slide being my reality. Straight to the manifestation board.’

She then put the challenge out to her followers, asking: ‘Who’s joining me this summer?’

Abbie announced to her fans in August that she was no longer shaving her pubic hair.

In a sponsored post for the razor brand, Billie, Abbie explained that she was growing out her ‘koala ears.’

‘Despite the fact that we are in the glory days of the bush renaissance, 36 per cent of women have felt judged for having visible body hair,’ Abbie said.

‘For just not doing something, but choosing to opt out of a beauty standard. So I’m going to do my own little form of activism, okay?

‘I’m gonna try and grow out my koala ears.’

Abbie explained that ‘koala ears’ refers to her bikini line as she gestured at her crotch.

‘It’s protruding bush, essentially, okay. Beautiful koala ears,’ she said, while pointing to the area she meant.

Abbie further explained in her Instagram caption: ‘I’M SICK OF BODY HAIR SHAMING SO I’M TAKING MATTERS INTO MY OWN HANDS!!’

‘The fact that 36 per cent of women still feel judged for having visible body hair is just so ridiculous.

‘So I’m setting myself a goal for summer: grow some koala ears and bring them back from the brink of extinction!’

The comments section was filled with a range of responses, with some people feeling Abbie had shared a little too much – while others loved the message.

‘My God why do we all have to know this and you are getting sponsors for this?’ one person asked.

‘Sometimes people just shave because it looks neat clean and presentable, not because someone is judging you.’

Abbie had lots of people in her corner, though, with many supporting the idea of growing out pubic hair.

‘To the girls against growing it out, you have pubes for a reason. It’s not unhygienic to grow your hair. It’s actually MORE unhygienic to shave it. No ingrown hair, it’s protected against FRICTION!’ wrote one fan.

‘I love doing it and walking around the beach making all the misogynistic men angry over it. I also grow my armpit hair,’ another said.
