Jennifer will executive produce the 10-episode limited series for Apple TV and will also star in it as a fictionalized version of Jennette‘s mother. As for Jennette herself, she will be stepping into a showrunner role.

“When it came across my desk as an option, an offer to play this character and work with Jennette and Sharon Horgan and LuckyChap, I was pretty much immediately intrigued and flattered and excited,” the Friends alum told the outlet, “It’s going to be wonderful. It’s going to be pretty great to start shooting it.”

Sharon is known for starring in and creating the acclaimed Apple TV series Bad Sisters and Margot Robbie is one of the co-founders of LuckyChap, so the adaptation certainly has an impressive team behind it.

On a more personal level, Jennifer shared that she was attracted to the project because she and Jennette “have a lot in common” and had “very similar moms.”

The Emmy winner has previously discussed the complicated relationship she had with her mother, actress Nancy Dow, who passed away in 2016.

Earlier this week, The Morning Show star opened up about turning down the chance to be a Saturday Night Live cast member.
