Bowen Yang will not be featured on this week’s Saturday Night Live!
The longtime cast member of the weekend late-night sketch show is taking a rare night off on Saturday’s (October 18) episode, and for good reason.
“missing the show tonight but it will be sooooo fun […] sab is amazing,” he wrote on Instagram story over a photo of a palm tree peeking out over a wall, and referring to host and musical guest Sabrina Carpenter.

The actor and comedian is actually on the west coast, in California, where he is set to attend the 2025 Academy Museum Gala on Saturday night.
Not only is the Wicked: For Good actor attending the gala, but he’s also one of four honorees at the fundraising event, alongside Penelope Cruz, filmmaker Walter Salles and musician Bruce Springsteen.
Bowen is set to be honored with the Vantage Award, which is “given to an emerging artist helping to challenge existing, entrenched narratives around film,” according to THR.
