Sorrentino, popularly known as ‘The Situation,’ along with his lovely wife Lauren Sorrentino, organized a family date night to an Italian restaurant in New Jersey, and they went through the entire gourmet experience. The Jersey Shore actor filmed a short clip of his family night, showing the restaurant’s homey atmosphere and the dessert that was the finale of the meal as a gift to take home. The post was a glimpse of the couple’s life away from reality TV, which was mainly about food, family, and quality time.

Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino has been forgoing his workouts to indulge in fine dining and he is taking the whole family with him. The couple took her parents out to the restaurant Cucina Calandra in Fairfield NJ, and to make the event even more exciting, they were giving their Instagram followers a front-row seat to all the cheesy and carb-loaded action.
In one video, Sorrentino was seen presenting the whole experience of dining to everyone. As soon as they were seated they received fresh bread which is a timeless beginning of any Italian meal. The menu was full of classics, which made it hard to choose, but The Situation was sure that one could never go wrong with a pizza. But it wasn’t just any pizza; it was a pizza with fire presentation at the tower which certainly enhanced the charm.
Yet the main event was undoubtedly the cheese wheel. The video showed pasta being fried and almost submerged in a gigantic wheel of cheese next to their table. ‘Observe this fresh pasta and cheese,’ Sorrentino was narrating in an obviously impressed voice while watching the whole thing happen. The real test was the flavor, and he was happy to declare the pasta was ‘honey’s approved’, meaning he did not doubt his wife, Lauren, was the one who gave the approval.
Besides the food, Sorrentino also highlighted the family-run atmosphere of the restaurant that made the night more enchanting. One very nice thing was that at the end of the meal, every customer is presented with a free loaf of Calandra’s bread to take home. ‘You know Big Daddy Sitch never wants the foods to end,’ he half-joked and thanked the restaurant for treating them like family.
The post about ‘quality time, amazing food, and lots of laughter’ received a lot of comments from fans quickly, food being the main topic among them. One person expressed her eagerness to go there and wrote, ‘Ok 1) food looks so delicious 2) you guys are stunning and last free bread to take home 👀 let’s go ! I’m only 30 minutes away so let’s go.’ It looks like the lure of the complimentary loaf of bread was a huge factor that led to the comment.
Another punny comment asked who was at the scene stating, ‘I can’t tell if this is Versace Mike, Situation Mike, or GTL Mike.’ The different personalities he assumed during his days in Jersey Shore seem to still attract the viewers. Nevertheless, Lauren Sorrentino’s response was the most revealing one as she just wrote, ‘So good! When we going back?!’ suggesting that they had a wonderful time and a follow-up visit was already in the making.
