The Traitors star Elen Wyn has revealed she has two wombs and two cervixes as she opened up about her abnormal anatomy in a recent interview.
The Welsh opera singer, 25, who rose to fame as a loyal faithful on the hit BBC show last January, has detailed how while pushing for an endometriosis diagnosis doctors found something far from what they were expecting.
Like many women, Elen struggled with the health care system, going back and forth before finally receiving a diagnosis for endometriosis in 2024 after admitting sometimes the pain is so severe she cannot walk and feels as though she is being stabbed.
Endometriosis is a condition in which endometrial tissue – tissue similar to uterine lining – grows outside of the uterus, such as on the cervix, bladder, and ovaries, where it collects and thickens over the course of every menstrual cycle.
Recalling her health journey on the It’s Not JUST a Period! podcast, Elen explained she went for two ultrasounds where it was revealed her anatomy wasn’t normal.
‘She [the doctor] was asking me questions like “Oh so you only have one kidney?” and I was like “Are you joking?!” She just assumed I knew.

‘And then I had an internal ultrasound and she couldn’t locate my cervix and she got so confused and she had to ask someone else to come in. I was terrified.’
Elen was then referred for an MRI scan as she continued: ‘They discovered I have one kidney, a huge one, a massive one, apparently it’s abnormally big which is fine. I have two wombs and two cervixes.
‘I was again quite quickly referred to see a gynaecologist and he had to create a diagram for me just with a pen and paper so I could visualise my anatomy.
‘It was quite surreal, I was never sad or stressed, I was shocked but I am ok with it.
‘It’s quite crazy I have got one fallopian tube and one ovary attached to each womb but both of them are functioning and he said they do have the technology to protect both wombs if I was to get pregnant one day.
‘It doesn’t impact my life, I only have one period. I don’t understand how it works.’
She added: ‘I’m kind of grateful that I do have an abnormal anatomy because otherwise I wouldn’t have found out I have endometriosis as well.’
Elen also spoke about how difficult it was to get a diagnosis after being told for years that her pain was normal and she needed to work on her pain tolerance.

Recalling the first GP she went to see when she was 14-years-old she said: ‘He would tell me it was normal I just had a low pain tolerance and I should work on it’ (pictured on The Traitors)

‘I remember thinking I shouldn’t be ok with living with not being able to walk because I am in so much pain for a week every month for the rest of my life.’
After hearing about endometriosis online, Elen then moved to Cardiff and after requesting a female GP was eventually referred to a specialist.
However Elen is still waiting for her laparoscopy to remove the endometriosis. She explained: ‘They told me because the endometriosis is so severe we need an endometriosis specialist to remove it safely.’
After waiting nine months for a referral, Elen went to her GP where they told her she had never been referred, ‘So I am now back on the waiting list, back at the bottom’.
Elen was the second star to be ruthlessly banished from The Traitors castle back in January.
