Did Pauly D Shave His Head? Jersey Shore Star Shares Video of Buzzcut

The prank war champion strikes again! Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio left fans doing a double take after sharing a new video appearing to debut a buzzcut — leaving many wondering if the DJ ditched his signature hairstyle and shaved his head.

“I Shaved My Head ✂️💈🪒,” Pauly D, 45, captioned his viral haircut clip on Saturday, October 11, seemingly showing him starting on his sideburns using an electric shaver before trimming his beard.

“Feels good already. Clean it all off. Fresh start man!” he said at the end of the Facebook video.

The MTV personality, notorious for his gravity-defying blowout, sparked shockwaves across social media, quickly racking up 12 million views and counting.

However, as some eagle-eyed viewers noticed, the transformation wasn’t quite what it seemed — turns out, it was AI-generated. “It’s AI people. It’s not possible to cut bulletproof hair,” one social media user commented. “AI or not… he looks fineeee bald,” another remarked.

“AI works wonders, yeeeaaaaahhhhh buddy!” a third wrote, while a fourth quoted Pauly D from season 2 of Jersey Shore, writing, “This hair ain’t movin my dude. 150 miles on the highway on a street bike it doesn’t move. What makes you think it’s gonna move in a gelato shop.”

MTV shook up reality TV — and introduced fans to the GTL lifestyle (a.k.a. gym, tan, laundry) — in 2009 with the premiere of Jersey Shore. The series quickly made household names out of stars Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Vinny Guadagnino, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Angelina Pivarnick, Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Samantha “Sammi Sweetheart” […]

While some fans tried to process the possibility of life without Pauly D’s iconic ‘do, others recalled his real-life switchup in 2020, when he went platinum blond but kept his facial hair dark.

“Just Trying To See If [It’s] True That Blondes Have More Fun…” he wrote alongside a photo of himself smiling on his motorcycle at the time. The reality star also posted a selfie showing off his light and bright color from inside his Rolls Royce, writing, “Activate Super Saiyan DJ Mode……”

After Pauly showed off his platinum hair transformation, his costar Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino gave his stamp of approval. “Oh damn,” the reality star, 43, wrote, along with a fire emoji. “We got a Situation.”

When one naysayer noted they didn’t “like it,” Pauly brushed off the criticism and nonchalantly replied, “Don’t care.”

Prior to his brief hair change, Pauly spoke with Us Weekly exclusively about his ‘do while launching two new limited-edition spins on classic products: göt2b Glued Styling Spiking Glue and Blasting Freeze Spray by DJ Pauly D.

“My hair to me is my everything so I wear it gelled more often than not,” the brand ambassador told Us at the time. “The bottles even have my face on them. The glue is super strong and makes sure my blowout doesn’t move, then I seal the look in with the spray for an all-day hold.”

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro can’t believe how far the Jersey Shore family has come. “It’s definitely hard to wrap your head around 15 years. But I think short and sweet, we’ve turned 15 minutes of fame into 15 years, and the story continues,” Mike, 43, exclusively shared with Us Weekly before the […]

Pauly noted that his hair was part of his trademark look years before his fist-pumping reality TV debut in 2009.

“I went to a Catholic school so we all wear the same uniforms and the only difference would be our hairstyles,” he shared, adding that it’s something he carried into adulthood.

“I like to do my hair every single day because it’s a way for me to express myself and it’s a sense of accomplishment,” Pauly continued.

As for going sans-gel, he’ll do it every once in a while but noted, “I like it too much and it’s me and my signature.” Pauly pointed out, “That would be like Mickey Mouse folding his ears down!”
