Jessica admitted that she hasn’t seen a script yet, but she and director Christopher Landon have been in “the longest game of phone tag in the world right now.”
“But all I can say about it is Chris has it all mapped out and as is so evident from the first two movies he’s just a brilliant genius man,” she went on to say to Collider.
“All I can say is it will finish Tree’s journey, it will take the audience to places they weren’t expecting to go and never been before but it will still be kind of the same amazing cast of characters, the same amount of thrills, chills, but also big laughs and also big emotions.”
The original movie was released in 2017, and followed a college student who must relive the day of her murder over and over again, in a loop that will end only when she discovers her killer’s identity. Happy Death Day 2U was released in 2019, in which Tree Gelbman discovers that dying over and over was surprisingly easier than the dangers that lie ahead.
