Beach Boys singer Mike Love breaks down in tears over emotional tribute to late Brian Wilson saying ‘he’s in our hearts’

The Beach Boys performed in the courtyard of the Meritage Resort in Napa, California on Sunday evening to a roaring crowd.

Toward the end of the performance original bang member Mike Love stopped the show to present a video tribute to the late Brian Wilson. ‘We want you to see this,’ began the crooner.

Wilson, who wrote many of The Beach Boys hit songs, passed away in June in Beverly Hills at the age of 82. His passing was a shock to millions of the band’s fans.

‘We lost Brian earlier this year, but he will always be in our hearts, it’s like he is still here,’ Love said before he wiped away tears with a white napkin.

Behind the band, which formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961, Brian could be seen in dozens of flashback photos from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and even within the past few years.

Brian co-founded the Beach Boys which is known for complex harmonies and orchestrations.

In 1961, he began his professional career as a member of the Beach Boys, serving as the band’s songwriter, producer, co-lead vocalist, bassist, keyboardist, and de facto leader.

After signing with Capitol Records in 1962, he became the first pop musician credited for writing, arranging, producing, and performing his own material.
