Skydance Television president Matt Thunell is set to oversee Paramount Television Studios following the closing of the two companies’ $8 billion merger.
Thunell will report to newly appointed Paramount Pictures co-chair and Paramount Television chair Dana Goldberg. A spokesperson for Skydance declined to comment.
The Paramount Television Studios label, which is being revived after being shuttered in August 2024, will include Skydance Television and the previously merged Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios. The latter was previously run by Paramount co-CEO Chris McCarthy, who is set to exit the company following completion of the merger.
