Victoria Beckham has said it’s ‘not their fault’ her kids are ‘nepo babies’ as she shares advice she has given for Cruz as he follows in her footsteps with a music career.
The fashion designer, 51, and her husband, football legend David, 50, share four children – Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14 – all of whom are carving out their own careers in the public eye.
In a new interview, Victoria addressed the nepotism debate, defending her family against the ‘nepo baby’ label as she explained that her kids are simply the children of their parents.
She told The Sun: ‘It’s not their fault, give them a chance.’
The term ‘nepo baby’ refers to the children of celebs who are often thought to have benefited from their parents’ fame and connections to get ahead.
Victoria’s eldest, Brooklyn, has been at the centre of this debate, having explored careers in modelling, photography, and cooking.

Meanwhile Romeo has pursued modelling, Harper is building an interest in beauty and fashion, and Cruz is stepping into the music world as a singer-songwriter.
Despite the criticism, Victoria admitted she’s proud of all her children and has offered Cruz some heartfelt advice as he prepares to launch his music career.
She told the publication: ‘I told him, ‘Don’t expect immediate success.
‘You’ve got to start small and build it up – and that’s exactly what he’s doing, playing tiny venues, no fuss, doing his thing.’
Victoria added that she believes that success is often better when it takes time, noting that it took her 20 years to build her fashion label into what it is today.
It comes as Cruz has continued to tease his new song by sharing snaps of merch revealing the release date.
The youngest Beckham son has reportedly signed with the top music management company C3, who worked with the US indie group The Strokes.
Now, in a further nod to his upcoming music, Cruz has shared a snap teasing the date ‘24.10.25’ – which he first mentioned last month.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Cruz reshared a picture of an array of white t-shirts, with one featuring the October date.
Possibly hinting at song lyrics, one t-shirt read ‘You wanna know how it looks’ while another had the writing ‘I know how it feels’.
Finally, one of the t-shirts also said ‘Cruz Beckham, Coming Soon.’
Cruz made sure all eyes were on him on on Friday as he strode around Paris in a pair of quirky green frog clogs.
However while Cruz’s bold fashion choice may have appeared out of the blue, it seemed instead he could be hinting at his upcoming music venture.
And ‘frog clues’ have been popping up on Cruz’s social media account for months, with fans becoming increasingly suspicious.
The frog furore began back in April when Cruz included the drawing of a cartoon frog at the end of an Instagram dump.
In the following months he has shared numerous snaps and videos of him rehearsing with his band, captioning his June post with a tongue and frog emoji.

In recent weeks it seems hints towards new music have really accelerated, with Cruz’s girlfriend Jackie Apostel also getting in on the froggy games
Later in July, Cruz shared sneak peak of new music as he strummed his guitar in the back of the car and sang the lyrics ‘Green day in Paris’, perhaps a hint to the title of an upcoming album.
Then last week he created his own ‘green day in Paris’ as he sported a pair of £370 quirky green frog clogs from JW Anderson while walking hand in hand with his girlfriend Jackie Apostel.
Jackie was also kitted out in green heels and bright green leather gloves which tied in with the song and frog hints.
And in recent weeks it seems hints towards new music have really accelerated, with Cruz’s girlfriend also getting in on the froggy games.
Posting a snap from rehearsals in mid September, Jackie, who is also a songwriter, commented: ‘It’s about time I think?’ as Cruz replied: ‘I agree’.
Meanwhile, as Cruz sported his bizarre shoes ahead of Victoria’s Paris Fashion Show on Friday, his girlfriend took to her own Instagram to share a snap of the pairs feet as well as a zoomed in picture of her hat, which again read the date ‘24.10.25’.
Cruz was also seen walking about with the upcoming October date printed on a white T-shirt.
And while it was thought that date marked the publication of Victoria’s upcoming cover issue with Elle USA Magazine, fans are starting to think it could be something more and may mark the release of new music.

On Sunday Cruz gave his biggest hint yet as he posed in a toad headpiece and sunglasses, captioning the post ‘What sound does a horny toad make’.
He then answered his own caption with ‘Rubbit’ while his girlfriend commented: ‘Toadally’.
Fans have gone wild for the clues as they asked: ‘What’s happening on the 24th? Music?’; ‘New single???’; ‘Hey what’s 24.10.25 means? A date for what?’;
‘If it’s a release date I’m toadally down for it’; ‘Go cruzie cannot wait what’s on the 24th’.
While others speculated whether it might be an album announcement, another suggested his new band is called ‘toads’.
They penned: ‘album is coming, i feel it’; ‘Cruz just tell us ?? Band song release and band is called toads ? My humble guess’.
The Daily Mail contacted Cruz’s representatives for comment at the time.
As well as teasing October 24, fans have also marked October 14 in their diary after he shared a snap to Instagram showing a stack of invitations barring that date.
Above the date, the invitations read: ‘Cruz D Beckham officially invites you, one night only.’
The picture showing the invitations on his Instagram story was followed by a snap of a guitar with a winking-face emoji – leading fans to believe his event was music related.
Cruz originally attempted to begin his music career when he was just 11-years-old after he released his festive single If Everyday Was Christmas back in 2016.
He also announced on Monday that he will be attending a burger event in Seaport to collaborate with Hamburger America and his hot sauce.
