Dove Awards singing the big breaking news for one of the most famous power couples in gospel music history. Adrienne Bailon Houghton would team with her husband and famous worship leader, Israel Houghton- a huge Latin event at the 56th annual ceremony by way of Unified Sound Music. This would probably be the one major musical collaboration between the two since they have opposing careers and rarely take the official stage together during the Dove Awards.

The announcement generated huge waves in the scene. Vanishing into a celebration-fest below the official announcement were other artists and supporters who expressed their joy. Israel Houghton himself said fervently, “NOW ITS A PARTY!!! you are beautiful baby.” The fire emoji accompanying the comment showed the joy, both professionally and personally.

Adrienne replied with nostalgia and much emotion: “12-year-old Adrienne is beyond excited!” Her memories from before subtly hinted at the full-circle kind of moment for the former Cheetah Girls and The Real co-host that has walked pop, television, and now gospel with her husband.

Voices quickly resonated passionately across the entertainment industry landscape. Actress Vernae Taylor gushed, “Oh wow!!! This is so beautiful!!” Those sentiments were followed by others, including fellow performer Luba who exclaimed, “Let’s gooo!!! This is amazing!” This chorus of voices paints a universally supported picture for this once-high-profile union on one of the largest nights in gospel music.

Said one observer, “Soo excited for you Adrienne you have come a long way!!!” This phrase, in regards to Adrienne’s advancement through the entertainment world, from Disney Channel star to bona fide voice within the gospel arena, was one to which many who have watched her path publicly resonated. Another adoration for the performance grinned, “Oh yeah, congratulations to Adrienne, Israel and New Breed. I know y’all gonna do outstanding. I’m so proud of them.”

In all likelihood, for all intents and purposes, it was the last push for tickets; the Gospel Music Association said it was the last chance for an audience member to be there for the ceremony. For those who would not have the chance to enter, the broadcast would be shown twice on Friday, October 10th, at 7:30 pm and 10 pm Eastern Time on TBN, simulcast with any other broadcast on SiriusXM’s The Meaning channel.
