The rep added, “The Osefos, alongside their legal team, look forward to their day in court. At this time, they respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead.”

The day before, Wendy was indicted on seven counts of felony fraud while Eddie was booked on nine counts. Additionally, they were each charged with eight misdemeanor counts of conspiracy fraud and one count of giving a false statement to a police officer.

According to the prosecution’s bail recommendation documents, the charges are related to an April 2024 incident where the couple allegedly fraudulently reported a burglary and theft at their home.

At the time, Wendy and Eddie reportedly told police that several designer bags and jewelry had been stolen. However, the Carroll County sheriff’s deputies allege Wendy was later seen wearing a diamond ring she reported stolen in a social media post.

Additionally, an investigation determined that numerous items that Wendy and Eddie claimed were stolen, had been purchased then returned to the store “where a full refund was provided prior to the alleged burglary.”

The documents indicate that the couple had claimed a $450,000 personal property loss to an insurance company.

Wendy and Eddie Osefo are due back in court in November. You can find out more about their arrests here.
