Alan Carr left viewers bewildered after sensationally ‘murdering’ his ‘best friend’ Paloma Faith on Thursday night’s Celebrity Traitors.
The Daily Mail can now reveal a secret revenge mission that may explain the comedian’s brutal culling of his close pal.
In January, four months before the stars filmed the hit BBC One series, Alan, 49, who was cast as a Traitor by host Claudia Winkleman, made a chilling revelation about Faithful Paloma – she nearly ‘killed’ him.
He told how Paloma, 44, gave him major food poisoning after being invited to the Chatty Man’s house alongside superstar Adele and her dog, Louis.
And it wasn’t just Alan who was left with a dodgy tummy, Adele’s dog defecated over an expensive rug belonging to Alan after sampling some of Paloma’s lamb.
To add insult to injury, Alan also revealed he left a pair of pricey designer shoes at her house and instead of returning them, she donated his Paul Smith footwear to a charity shop instead.

In January, four months before the stars filmed the hit BBC One series, Alan, who was cast as a Traitor by host Claudia Winkleman, made a chilling revelation about Faithful Paloma
Speaking to Paloma Faith on her podcast Mad, Sad and Bad, Alan said: ‘Are we going to mention when you nearly killed me and you nearly killed Adele’s dog?’
He explained: ‘For those of you that don’t know, Adele, Adele’s dog Louis and Paloma came round, I remember Paloma saying, “I’ll cook, I’ll cook us something lovely,” was it a Spanish dish? It was lamb.
‘We were sitting there, and my stomach was going, Adele’s dog Louis is a sausage dog, and the dog had a bit of the lamb, and I have never seen s*** come out so quick. It was an expensive rug…
‘Adele was screaming, “no, no, no, get some kitchen roll” so I ran downstairs, Adele ripped the kitchen roll off and I thought she was going to scoop up the dog s*** but she rolled it up and put it up her nose because of the smell!’
Paloma, who admitted she still felt guilty for having made Alan so unwell, replied: ‘I can’t forget it. Every time I see you on TV… I’ve never actually stopped feeling bad. I know we make a joke of it, but I did genuinely feel bad for ages about that.’
Alan also seemed bemused after Paloma confessed to donating a pair of his designer Paul Smith shoes to a charity shop.
Paloma said: ‘He is the person who left a pair of shoes at my house two years ago and I’m now, for the first time ever, confessing that I gave them to a charity shop six weeks ago. So sorry! I thought you were never coming back; you ghosted me. The charity shop is making absolute mint off your shoes.’
Alan replied: ‘You didn’t? They were designer, they were Paul Smith!’

Alan has had viewers in hysterics over his inability to lie as a Traitor as the star admitted to profusely sweating and needing alcohol to get him through the experience

So far, he has remained undetected, although broadcaster Clare Balding already has her suspicions
During Thursday night’s instalment of Celebrity Traitors, Alan chose to ‘murder’ Faithful Paloma in plain sight, believing it would be the perfect cover given their close friendship.
Alan has had viewers in hysterics over his inability to lie as a Traitor as the star admitted to profusely sweating and needing alcohol to get him through the experience.
So far, he has remained undetected, although broadcaster Clare Balding already has her suspicions.
The episode ended on a cliffhanger, with viewers eager to see who will become the first celebrity banished from the Scottish castle and Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway potentially facing the axe.
YouTuber Niko Omilana and EastEnders actress Tameka Empson are also at risk after receiving votes from their fellow celebrities, while Traitors Jonathan Ross, Cat Burns, and Alan appear to be safe.
Celebrities taking part in the first all-star series include actor Stephen Fry, singer Charlotte Church, former Olympic diver Tom Daley, and comedian Joe Wilkinson.
After her murder was shown on screen, Paloma posted a photo on Instagram of her grave, captioning it: ‘Gutted. No words.’
Her reaction to discovering the true identities of the Traitors was filmed for the spinoff show Uncloaked, where she said: ‘Jonathan? The geek. What a p****. I’m happy to lose him as a friend.’
She said of singer Cat: ‘Oh my God, so these people just killed me out of malice because I didn’t suspect any of them.’
Finding out she was killed by friend Alan, Paloma added: ‘These are three of my favourite people. I hope they never call me again, and I mean that. Bang out of order. I feel more betrayed now.’
