Andrew Garfield Responds to ‘Avengers’ Rumors Once & For All


Andrew Garfield is putting an end to the rumors that he’ll be reprising the role of Spider-Man again.

The 42-year-old Oscar-nominated actor played the superhero in 2012′s The Amazing Spider-Man and the 2014 sequel. He later returned to the role in 2021′s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which featured Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man meeting other versions from the multi-verse.

There has been speculation that Andrew and Tobey will be featured in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, but he just shut down the reports once and for all.

A new GQ interview featured a fan question asking, “Will Tobey and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men be in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ as well?”

“No, unequivocally f–king no,” Andrew responded.

Andrew told Esquire last year that he would “100% come back… if it was the right thing, if it’s additive to the culture, if there’s a great concept or something that hasn’t been done before that’s unique and odd and exciting and that you can sink your teeth into. I love that character, and it brings joy. If part of what I bring is joy, then I’m joyful in return.”
