Matlock’s Leah Lewis Breaks Silence After David Del Rio’s Firing for Alleged Sexual Assault


Leah Lewis is speaking out after her co-star David Del Rio was fired from the CBS drama Matlock.

It has been reported that Leah is the actress who filed a sexual assault allegation against David, which led to his immediate firing from the series.

Leah and David shared most of their scenes together as Sarah Franklin and Billy Martinez, first-year associates at law firm Jacobson Moore.

Leah took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday (October 9) to share a photo with her mom while hanging out on set.

“Mom is here, we’re moving forward in love and strength. I’m in good hands. Thank you to everybody for any kind of support and care. Truly, we’re moving forward in strength. Key word, strength. Please, let that be the take away,” Leah captioned the photo.

Deadline reports that the alleged incident happened on September 26 and was reported on October 2. An internal investigation happened on that day and led to David being escorted off the set that same day.

Eric Christian Olsen, who is an executive producer on the series, reportedly was one of the people who escorted David off the set.

David‘s character will appear in season two, but he will be written out of future episodes.
