Hairstylist reveals the secret meaning behind Nicole Kidman’s new hairdo as she debuts makeover amid split with Keith Urban

Nicole Kidman debuted her new hairdo this week, including a choppy fringe, soft waves and a strawberry blonde tone.

And according to one celebrity stylist, the Australian actress has debuted the ultimate ‘revenge hair’ after announcing her split from husband Keith Urban.

Jaye Edwards, owner and founder of Edwards & Co, told Elle Magazine the new do has the ‘relaxed old money energy’ that ‘everyone’s chasing right now.’

‘Nicole’s hair is the perfect example of soft luxury, effortlessly undone and super healthy,’ he said.

‘What makes this look work so well is the softness; the colour melts seamlessly. The shape of the cut feels undone but intentional,’ he added.

Jaye also praised the strawberry blonde as ‘a beautiful choice for her skin and eye colour’ and added that it was a ‘lived-in, expensive-looking tone.’

‘I am thrilled to be joining Chanel as it begins its new chapter with Matthieu at the helm,’ she said.

The Hollywood star announced her split from Urban last week amid claims the country star has already moved on and is romantically involved with a younger woman in the music industry.

The well-placed Nashville music business PR source said: ‘The rumour is that he’s with a younger woman in the business.

‘It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.’

Daily Mail has contacted representatives for comment.

Meanwhile, Kidman discussed taking ‘taking risks’ and the mistakes she has made in a new interview with Vogue published Wednesday.

‘Taking a risk is what I’ve always done,’ she shared in the cover piece. ‘You get back up and you try again and you learn.’

‘Literally walk away from it because it will fell you. It will destroy you,’ Kidman candidly shared.

Kidman did not address the divorce directly during her interview but was instead ‘wry, rueful, unsure of herself’ when asked about how she felt now in her 50s.

‘How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and then it isn’t going in that direction?’ she quizzed, before stressing the importance of ‘ride-or-die friendships.’

She later reflected: ‘So much to say and so little time to say it. About death and life and joy and grief and loss and sex and why we’re here and what is truth and is truth even necessary.’

Her new interview marked the 41st cover she’s been on in the international magazine – including their Australian and UK editions.
