Netflix Considers ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Sequels & More After Massive Success


KPop Demon Hunters could be turned into a franchise!

After the massive success, on both Netflix and the music charts, the streamer is considering making more movies, including a live-action version, according to The Wrap.

During a recent second quarter earnings call, Netflix’s co-CEO Ted Sarandos called the movie “a phenomenal success out of the gate … And the fact that people are in love with this film and in love with the music from this film, that will keep it going for a long time. So we’re really thrilled. And now the next beat is, where does it go from here?”

Netflix is reportedly looking to expand KPop Demon Hunters to a stage musical, a live-action remake, a series and two sequels to make it a film trilogy. They are also looking to make a short film to “bridge content” between movies.

In addition to more screen projects, Netflix is also ramping up the merch and bringing products into local malls and big box stores.
