Dave Franco is recalling how he proposed to his wife and Together co-star Alison Brie!
The couple and co-stars spoke to Variety recently about the proposal, their nuptials, and whether or not they’re going to work on another movie together soon!
The pair were married in 2017 and starred in and produced the 2025 body horror movie about a couple that encounter a terrifying force after a big move.

According to the 40-year-old actor, he didn’t have a ring ready when he was prepping to propose to his 42-year-old wife. The couple said Alison wanted a ring designed by one of her jeweler friends, but Dave was ready to propose when they went on vacation.
“I figured I should have a placeholder ring so I could at least put something on her finger. I went to an antiques store down the street from us and got what I thought was a cool, old ring,” Dave recalled.
He went on to share that the two of them first met during Mardi Gras and Dave had kept the mask she wore during the holiday. On how he worked the memory into the proposal, he said, “We first met at Mardi Gras in New Orleans years ago, and Alison had this silver mask on her head the entire weekend. I had written my phone number on the mask, and at the end of the trip, I took it and hid it. She didn’t know I’d kept the mask all these years.”
Alison said she was initially confused by the setup when she saw Dave in a mask with the antique ring. She told the publication, “He calls me out onto the patio. I turn around and Dave’s on one knee in a Zorro mask, holding a weird box with an old rock in it. I had no idea what was going on.”
Dave said he explained that he would be replacing the ring later and that the two of them still have the sentimental mask all these years later.
“The mask is hanging in our kitchen with a photo from the first night we met,” Dave shared.
