Silvia Dionicio‘s performance in HBO’s latest series Task is generating a lot of amazing buzz!
The 28-year-old actress is one of the stars of the hit TV show, which is airing on Sundays until October 19.
The series is set in the working class suburbs of Philadelphia, and follows an FBI agent (Mark Ruffalo), who heads a Task Force to put an end to a string of violent robberies led by an unsuspecting family man (Tom Pelphrey). Silvia is portraying the role of Emily, who is the adopted daughter of Mark‘s character.

- Before moving to the United States, I graduated from a special engineering high school in the Dominican Republic, with a technical degree in electricity. I learned to fix refrigerators and make car generators. Now, I can hardly remember to turn the lights off when I leave a room…
- I learned to play a regional folk style of Afro-Mexican music called Son Jarocho for an Off-Broadway show a few years ago. Despite it being my first time learning to play an instrument, I became such a fan and student of the genre that I co-founded a Son Jarocho band called, Son Papalotl.
- I can hola hoop for about 55 minutes straight! During the pandemic, I got myself a hola hoop and timed myself and the longest was 53 minutes. I could probably go longer, but no need…
- I have a REALLY good sense of direction. I think it’s thanks to the one time I got lost in Manhattan while visiting for the summer as a kid. Somehow, with no phone or knowledge of New York, I made it back safe and sound using only my intuition and sense of direction. Now it’s a skill I take a lot of pride in.
- My friend Cindy and I started a cinnamon roll tour in New York City. Some may say I am a cinnamon roll connoisseur.
- I learned to speak conversational English by religiously watching the Disney Channel as a kid. Every morning — if I was able to get up early enough — I would obsessively watch “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” before going to school. That’s if my little brother didn’t beat me to it.
- I once got stranded in Paris by myself for about a week and ended up having such a good time alone that I now try solo traveling at least once a year!
- Me and my brother share a birthday, but we aren’t twins! (Three years apart)
- For almost three years, I used to host scavenger hunts in New York City as a side-gig, so I can actually name random historic facts about NYC that most people have never heard about.
- I am a huge fan of The Office! I used to fall asleep to it every night and one time I went to a The Office trivia night and came in 1st place, where I won tickets to The Play that Goes Wrong.
