The sequel to The Social Network has officially been confirmed and the cast, synopsis, and a new title have been revealed.
Jesse Eisenberg got an Oscar nomination for playing Meta CEO and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in the first movie, but he won’t be returning for the follow-up film. Oscar nominee Jeremy Strong is taking on the role alongside an exciting cast for the sequel.

Variety reports that the movie will be called The Social Reckoning and it will be written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, who wrote the screenplay for the first movie.
Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, and comedian Bill Burr round out the cast.
The movie “tells the true story of how Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.”
Sony will release the movie in theaters on October 9, 2026.
