Matthew McConaughey Shares How Son Levi Is Following in His Footsteps During The Lost Bus Premiere
Matthew McConaughey is alright, alright alright with Levi Alves McConaughey following in his footsteps.
Despite previous reservations, the actor—who stars alongside his and wife Camila Alves’ son, as well as his mom Mary Kathlene McCabe in The Lost Bus—explained why he became “open” to sharing the spotlight with his 17-year-old.
“The first 15 years in Hollywood I was like, ‘I’d never want my kid to grow up in the business,’” Matthew explained in an interview with People published Sept. 24. “And when I hit about 40, right about the time we had Levi, I looked around at how many special people I’ve met in my life, how much travel and what an awesome, healthy, cool experience that’s been for me in my life.”
At that point, the How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days star couldn’t imagine keeping his and Camila’s kids—including Vida, 15, and Livingston, 12—away from such opportunities.
“I was like, ‘Where are you coming up with this idea you don’t want any of your kids to do it?’” he recalled. “It’d be a privilege if they would be able to.”
