Pastor Keion Henderson dropped great insight that elicited explanations and nods of agreement from around the room. This Instagram post is centered on the discussions about the hazards encountered while dealing with closed spirits and whether the message hits!

In this clip from the ‘Post Cry Out Con 2025 Sunday Service,’ Henderson drops his bombs in such a way that will set you straight in your seat. “The worst person you can be in a relationship with is a person whose spirit is closed,” he says. “Close spirits can’t receive love and they can’t give it. They can tolerate you but they can’t celebrate you.” That hurts now, doesn’t it?
He went on further: he stated that closed-off, closed-spirited individuals are dangerous because they do not have the fruits of the spirit—fasting in compassion, accountability, or even giving genuine apologies being some of them. “It will always be your fault,” he says. “They will never see their role in the issue.” That is exactly what he is talking about if you have ever had to deal with that kind of personality.
The quote that was posted is short yet another powerful statement: “A closed spirit is a dangerous spirit. If they can’t hear God, feel compassion, or take accountability—need not apply. Protect your peace and discern who gets access.” From the comments, it seems as though people are resonating quite deeply with this.
One person said all that needed to be said: “👏 wheewwww yesss Lord 🙌🏽✨❤️,” and another cried out, “My God if this isn’t the truth‼️🤦🏽♀️.” Another commented, “I’m living that life right now;” well, there go all of us.
Then there is the one who took it as a personal wake-up call: “Need not apply if their spirit is closed in Jesus name I’m not playing with nor about this!!! 🙏🏼. Amen Amen.” Um, respect to that energy.
This is why so many people resonate with Henderson’s words: they are truthful; so apart from relationships, they speak for self-preservation. The art: knowing when to walk away from people who drain your energy rather than add to it. In a world so fast to point fingers at others and this sermon snippet really gives a reality check.
Those interested in more of that full experience may find it on Henderson’s YouTube channel, where the entire Sunday service can be viewed. Yet even in this snippet, the message is loud and clear: Guard your heart; protect your peace; do not let closed spirits dim your light.
