ADOR announced last night that it had not only terminated its exclusive contract with NewJeans member Danielle but that it would also be taking legal measures against a member of Danielle’s family whom, alongside former ADOR CEO/known plagiarist* Min Hee-Jin (MHJ), ADOR alleges “provoked the string of events leading to the legal dispute.” Details are currently sparse but more should come to light once the actual filings start.
Allegedly, ADOR discovered that the conflict and delayed return of the members was the result of the members having been “fed continuous and twisted information about the company over an extended period of time” by a member of Danielle’s family and MHJ. As such, ADOR decided that “it would be difficult for Danielle to continue both as a member of NewJeans and an artist at ADOR, and [notified] her that the contract has been terminated.”
ADOR also announced that Hanni is slated to return to the company (and NewJeans) after meetings between ADOR, Hanni, and Hanni’s family went well. While Minji is still in talks, things are reportedly progressing well.
*I don’t think we had a standalone post about it yet, so for those who might be unaware, MHJ’s most recent plagiarism scandal is that the name and logo of her new label, “One Of A Kind,” were both directly lifted from the Canadian company “One Of A Kind.” See a comparison of the logos and names on r/kpop_uncensored here.
