Celebrities Don’t Look Human Anymore

Ad from 02:00-03:56

In this video, Janae talks about how celebrity women have gone from looking like themselves— unique, with expressive faces to looking like walking statues, barely able to show emotion with their faces, if at all.

Beauty standards have left us with actresses we’ve known and loved for years now unable to emote, making scenes in movies hard to pay attention to or take seriously. We’ve come to a time where the “Instagram face” is the only face we’re seeing: “perfect” faces with small noses, big eyes, and big lips, all symmetrical and smooth, with little to no emotion.

In the video, a couple of people bring up that Selena Gomez now looks like she’s a different ethnicity. It shows old recordings of how beauty standards were decades ago and how we’ve come to this new face that everyone seems to want. It’s become a “one size fits all” situation where everyone thinks they’ll fit into this look, but our bodies are all different—our faces and head shapes too. There is so much that goes into why each of us look the way we do that one look just will not fit on everyone’s face nor should it.

Note: 2nd post ever, hope this is okay and that I followed everything correctly🤞
After watching this video, I was interested in seeing what ONTD thought about how rampant this has really become and how easy it can be to gloss over how normalized it is for women to go through multiple surgeries to stay relevant, when men like Leonardo DiCaprio can look like a tub of lard for quite a while now and still be respected and given roles left, right, and center. Sending everyone some extra love as our looks are a big topic and it can be hard sometimes <3
