Long John Silver’s new logo design

Months after the Cracker Barrel logo debacle drew ire from some customers, Long John Silver’s has unveiled its own “redesigned logo” recently. The seafood chain, that has been known for its fried fish platter, is now putting “chicken front and center,” replacing the signature fish illustration for a stylized chicken to spotlight non-fish menu items, including fried chicken.

“Guests have been telling us for years that our chicken is a best-kept secret,” Long John Silver’s marketing executive said in a statement. “Our hand-battered chicken strips—known as Chicken Planks—are every bit as crave-worthy as our legendary fish. It’s time we let that secret out.”

The decision to revamp the logo builds on “successful product testing” (including Spicy Nashville Hot Chicken) at a flagship location in Louisville, according to Long John Silver’s.
