Recently, actress and bad driver Emma Watson gave an interview that was hours long where she talked about her life (including the incredibly odd “why she wasn’t married yet”) and gave some support to Palestine. Of course, her words about Grand High TERF JK Rowling are getting the most press. They’re pretty conciliatory, a lot of “I hope there can be love between people who disagree.”
JKR, who previously has refused to forgive a hypothetical apology from Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson, obviously took exception and responded on Twitter.
Her full rant is long as hell, but tl;dr is:
- Emma publicly disagreeing with her is ‘pouring petrol on the flames’. Emma passed her a note saying “I’m sorry for what you’re going through” when she was getting threats on Twitter but didn’t text or call.
- Emma is privileged and that is the reason she isn’t a TERF.
- She dislikes the fact that Dan and Emma act as “de facto spokepeopple for the world I created.” She later also said some HP stars have stood by her. “I have no wish to point my more rabid detractors at any individual, so I’ll just say #NotAllPotterKids.
